Tampa Devs is growing! We're looking for an Event Coordinator to join our amazing team of other volunteer leaders and help us plan and organize our monthly meetings.

- Help develop and execute a calendar of regular events.
- Assist with planning and scheduling of each event, including the date, time, location, and theme.
- Find and secure venues for events, ensuring that they meet the needs of the event and are accessible to attendees.
- Coordinate with speakers, presenters, and other participants to ensure their availability and readiness for the event (using tools like Sessionize.com).
- Manage event registration and attendance, including creating registration forms, tracking RSVPs, and communicating with attendees before and after the event.
- Work with our marketing team to promote events and increase attendance.
- Manage event logistics, including setting up and breaking down equipment and decorations, coordinating with catering or food vendors, and managing any technical needs.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and flexible deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse range of people, including speakers, volunteers, and attendees.
- Experience with event planning, preferably in a nonprofit or community setting.
- Familiarity with social media and online event management tools (Meetup, Sendgrid, Buffer).
- Knowledge of local venues and event spaces, and the ability to negotiate contracts and secure the best possible rates.
- Available at flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
- A passion for community building and an interest in helping Tampa Bay's technology sector thrive.

Tampa Devs started as a small group of friends in the technology industry who met through latin dance. After realizing the broad appeal and clear need for a developer meetup in Tampa, founder Vincent Tang publicly launched the group with its first event in September 2021.
Since its inception, Tampa Devs has helped its members acquire new skills and find success in the technology industry. Our nonprofit organization strives to create unique opportunities for the local community to learn, grow, and succeed together. Today, with more than 1,000 active members on Meetup.com and an average attendance of over 200 attendees at our hosted events, we are proud to serve as a thriving hub for Tampa Bay's developer community.
